Job Summary

The Team

As part of the Workforce Development Branch, you'll join a passionate and collaborative team of five, including a director, senior policy analysts, and fellow policy analysts. Established in 2018, our team is dedicated to supporting and sustaining a stable, qualified, and engaged K-12 workforce, with the goal of ensuring that all students can thrive. We collaborate closely with teams across the Ministry in areas such as Child Care, Indigenous Education, Mental Health, and Data and Analytics to tackle emerging workforce issues. Our team values camaraderie and collaboration, and we even bond over our shared love for culinary experiences, making our work environment both dynamic and supportive.

The Role
In this role, you'll act as a liaison with other program areas, K-12 partners, and stakeholders, contributing to research, policy, and program development. Your work will have a direct impact on schools and students, working with the K-12 education sector to ensure appropriate staffing and contributing to the broader education system. As part of a small, supportive team, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely, explore new opportunities, and make a meaningful difference in the education sector.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field and 2 years of related experience; OR
  • Diploma in business administration, public administration, or a related field and 3 years related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in business administration, public administration, or a related field and 4 years related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience includes the following:
  • Experience researching public policy issues and conducting public policy analysis, including engaging stakeholders and developing policy options and recommendations.
  • Experience managing projects and/or project components.

Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • Experience in directing the work of contracted resources.
  • Experience working with First Nations, Métis, and/or Inuit organizations or communities.

About this Position:
This position can be based out of Victoria or Vancouver
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
