Job Summary

Alexis Fiscal Advisory is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Insurance Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients in the insurance sector, answering their inquiries, processing claims, managing policy details, and ensuring a smooth experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for problem-solving, and a thorough understanding of insurance products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:

    • Provide prompt and courteous service to clients via phone, email, or in-person regarding insurance inquiries, policy details, and claims.

    • Answer customer questions about policy coverage, premium rates, billing, and claims processes.

    • Assist customers in understanding their insurance policies and make recommendations based on their needs and concerns.

    • Resolve customer issues or complaints in a professional and timely manner, ensuring satisfaction and retention.

  • Policy Management:

    • Process new insurance applications, renewals, and modifications to existing policies in accordance with company guidelines.

    • Update customer information and policy details in the company’s database accurately.

    • Assist with policy cancellations, transfers, or changes as requested by customers, following company policies.

  • Claims Assistance:

    • Assist clients with the submission of insurance claims, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.

    • Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed of the claims process, including timelines, status updates, and resolution.

    • Coordinate with internal claims teams and external adjusters to resolve issues and process claims efficiently.

  • Billing and Payments:

    • Address billing inquiries, explain payment options, and assist clients with billing discrepancies.

    • Process customer payments, premiums, and refunds accurately and in a timely manner.

    • Send out invoices, payment reminders, and provide support for policyholders with payment concerns.

  • Sales Support:

    • Upsell or cross-sell insurance products, such as additional coverage, riders, or bundled policies, when appropriate.

    • Assist customers in selecting policies that best meet their needs based on a thorough understanding of available insurance products.

  • Compliance and Documentation:

    • Ensure all customer interactions and processes comply with industry regulations and company policies.

    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions, transactions, and claims for future reference and audits.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other team members, including sales agents, claims adjusters, and underwriters, to provide seamless service to clients.

    • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of customer service processes.

Qualifications
  • Education and Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business, insurance, or a related field is a plus.

    • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in the insurance industry.

    • Knowledge of insurance products, claims processes, and terminology is preferred but not required.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with customer service software or CRM systems.

    • Familiarity with insurance management software and databases is an asset.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts clearly.

    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle customer concerns and resolve issues efficiently.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while handling customer inquiries.

  • Ability to lift and carry office materials and documents (up to 25 lbs) when necessary.
