DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Co-op and Internship opportunities allow you to gain valuable work experience across a number of the businesses at TD. You will work with experienced colleagues, receive world class training, and be part of a community of students across TD, where you will have an impact, grow as individual and experience our culture of care.
Our Co-op/Intern Programming is offered with select Co-op and Internship roles and is designed to help you better understand the TD business, build on critical career capabilities, and broaden your professional network. This program is designed to complement your on-the job experience and features:
This is an opportunity to work on a highly visible enterprise-wide initiative. In our goal to become a data driven organization TD Bank has established a comprehensive set of Data Management Standards for business and functions to implement and execute data management capabilities effectively and efficiently. A project has been launched to deliver on the Risk and Compliance (US/CAN) corporate areas of the bank and have a timeline to meet these standards by May 2026.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Day to Day:
The candidate will be part of a project pod responsible for executing required activities to become adherent to the new data management standards. We have prioritized the bank's most critical outputs/reports into a Tier 1 listing. Our project team will be responsible for over 40 outputs within the Risk and Compliance area and each output will go through stages including:
Materiality Assessment - Involves working directly with output/report owners to determine the most important metrics/line items on the report.
Data Supply Chain Analysis - Decomposing the material line items into underlying data elements and tracing them to fully understand and document the systems/transformations and both technical and business metadata.
Control Gap Assessment and Data Issue Planning - Evaluating if the proper controls exist within the data supply chain above. Where gaps are identified a remediation plan must be created and entered into our centralized issue portal for proper tracking and oversight.
The candidate will support the project team in executing the above phases for and also look for opportunities to improve the teams' capabilities to manage the artifacts the project produces, enable us to perform analysis and gather insights from these artifacts, and enable the team to work more efficiently and effectively.
They will have an opportunity to work with various stakeholders across the bank from differing backgrounds including non-technical business reporting teams to technology teams, data subject matter experts, and governance professionals to deliver against agreed timelines. The ability to communicate effectively with a cross section of stakeholders with varying levels of data management technical knowledge will be a critical skill, as will attention to detail and the ability to quickly identify and appropriately escalate issues and blockers to delivery.

Do you want to:
- Learn Subject Areas including Risk Management (Financial and Non-Financial), Data and Technology, Data Management/Governance from team members and stakeholders.
- Provide a range of data analysis and assess business information management related data requirements for specific data platforms, applications systems, servers aligned to business needs.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of data available from upstream sources and data within relevant platform / applications, including through the means of data profiling and data quality (e.g., rules / thresholds / assessments, etc.) reporting tools and via the capture of business metadata.
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to elicit information / data requirements and articulate requirements .
- Contribute to data deliverables including contribution to the overall project business requirements and data requirements documents.
- Support the user community by helping users interpret the data.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/ Commerce or related field
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term
Relevant Skills/Abilities you will use and develop:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are required to interpret data and draw conclusions.
- Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques.
- Skill in using computer applications including MS Office .
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines .
