Job Skills / Requirements
The Site Supervisor will report to the Security Programs Manager and is assigned responsibility, accountability and authority to monitor all work activities of their staff members, and to identify and report any problems which could impact the company's service delivery. Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited too; maintaining a safe and secure environment for all staff and visitors, managing patrols of building and surrounding areas and overseeing the operation of the Security Systems Monitoring Station. This is a full-time role and a flexible schedule will be required.
Schedule is 0600-1400 Monday - Friday
Assist the Security Programs Manager with:
• Responsible for overseeing building and surrounding areas, ensuring all site policies and procedures are being adhered to and staff members are following contractual obligations
• Assist with security evaluations and risk assessments, while giving appropriate recommendations to clients to maintain site safety
• Ensure all staff members receive adequate and sufficient information to commence duties on site
• Monitor, identify and report any health and safety deficiencies on site, and instruct all staff in good work safe practices
• Provide guards with continued and adequate training as it relates to the duties and responsibilities of the position
• Ensure new guards have read and signed the required acknowledgements for the Site Orders, the Security Guard Training Manual and the OH&S Manual
• Monitor and identify any staff training or disciplinary issues that arise, bringing them to the attention of the Site Supervisor and providing constructive feedback and suggestions as required
• Ensure all email inquiries; and requests are attended and replied to in a timely fashion
• Support all staff to ensure their needs and concerns are addressed as appropriate
• Assist with regular staff evaluations
• Monitor daily and nightly incident reports to ensure both relevancy and accuracy
• Ensure all daily, weekly and monthly reports, records and logs are completed and filed as required
• Ensure that all services provided comply with Paladins Code of Ethics and The Policy and Procedure Manual
• Foster good relations with local law enforcement organizations and participate in joint programs designed to reduce crime
Certification Requirements (All)
Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Security Licence
Additional Information / Benefits
Job Requirements:
• Must hold a valid Alberta security license
• Must hold a valid Class 5 Drivers license
• 2 year's security experience is a must, in the field of retail would be considered an asset
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to mentor and coach by knowledge and experience
• First Aid Level C certificate would be considered an asset
• Demonstrates a clear understanding and application of the Criminal Code of Canada and Alberta Provincial Regulations as they relate to security
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external customers
• Demonstrates flexible, solution-orientated, thinking
• Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities and has a proven maturity
• Experienced in the use of security software such as CCTV is an asset
