The KPMG Canada Digital Assets Center of Excellence (CoE) is at the forefront of the digital transformation, dedicated to helping organizations build the infrastructure and capabilities required to engage with digital assets and scale their products and offerings. Our CoE is a hub of innovation, focusing on the integration and utilization of blockchain technology and other digital asset solutions to drive business growth and efficiency. We work with a diverse range of clients, from startups to established enterprises, providing them with the strategic guidance and technical expertise needed to navigate the complexities of the digital asset landscape.

What you will do
As a Staff Consultant / Senior Consultant in our Digital Assets CoE, you will play a crucial role in supporting a team of digital asset and blockchain specialists. You will help our clients engage with innovative digital asset solutions, ensuring they are well-equipped to leverage these advancements for their business objectives. Your responsibilities will span across client delivery and practice development, ensuring a dynamic and impactful role within our team.

Client Delivery
  • Advisory Services : Provide advice to clients on the technology, operational, and financial aspects of digital assets.
  • Strategic Planning : Assist clients in developing comprehensive digital asset strategies aligned with their business goals.
  • Governance and Frameworks : Help clients establish robust governance structures and frameworks for managing digital assets.
  • Risk and Controls : Advise on risk management and control measures to ensure the secure and compliant use of digital assets.
Practice Development
    • Collateral Preparation : Support the CoE practice by preparing high-quality collateral, including presentations, reports, and whitepapers.
    • Research : Conduct in-depth research on emerging trends and technologies in the digital asset space to keep the team and clients informed.
    • Thought Leadership : Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by writing articles, participating in webinars, and representing the CoE at industry events.
What you bring to the role
A successful candidate will possess a mix of the following skills and behaviors:
  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Business, Economics, Information technology, Data Science or Computer Science degree required
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in assessing information technology or business process risk ideally within a large consulting practice.
  • A strong foundational knowledge of digital assets, including crypto assets, stablecoins, tokenized assets and NFTs, as well as blockchain technology. You understand the underlying principles, use cases, and potential impacts of these technologies on various industries.
  • Good understanding and experience with IT risk management and assessments in different capacities (e.g. advisor, internal/external audits, implementor).
  • Ability to work both independently, with little supervision and within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to effectively express insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Has a high degree of personal confidence, enthusiasm and drive. Willingness and ability to travel both within Canada and internationally.
