Supports the build, management, and execution of an enterprise-wide liquidity and funding management framework within Corporate Treasury to optimize risks and maximize risk-adjusted profitability for the Bank. Provides expertise for the measurement, analysis, and oversight of the Bank's global regulatory and internal funding risks arising from Trading and Capital Markets business activities. In partnership with the assigned business/portfolio, develops a solid understanding of the business strategies and in-depth product, market, and regulatory knowledge across all wholesale / trading products. Advises on liquidity and funding risk mitigation, product development, and optimization. Supports the development of liquidity Bank's risk measurement and reporting processes for liquidity and funding management.
  • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business, group or new product initiative.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Networks with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
  • Recommends strategic priorities and leads the execution.
  • Manages resources and leads the execution of liquidity & funding related strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.

  • Recommends and implements liquidity and funding solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Supports development and execution of Enterprise's liquidity and funding risk management strategy for executive and Board approval in collaboration with Market Risk Management to recommend liquidity and funding-related risk appetite and associated limits.
  • Develops processes to identify, measure, and manage liquidity and funding risks for Trading Products and Wholesale Businesses in conjunction with Market Risk Management, Global Markets, and Finance areas.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned Trading Products and Capital Markets business stakeholders on liquidity and funding matters including funds transfer pricing, stress testing and recovery and resolution planning
  • Develops and maintains the model and assumption framework used to measure liquidity and funding risk and recommends changes (e.g. regularly reviews liquidity objectives, positions and assumptions, including for new Trading Products and Capital Market initiatives).
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making and understand risk drivers.
  • Recommends and implements solutions based on risk assessments, analysis of issues, and implications for the business.
  • Helps senior management to align agendas between various stakeholders including industry specialty groups and regulators and advocate the Bank's position on market or regulatory developments.
  • Monitors performance of the liquidity stress tests and addresses any issues arising from related stress testing (e.g. enterprise-wide stress testing, OSFI macro-stress testing, ad-hoc testing).
  • Provides input into liquidity and funding programs such as annual planning, risk modeling and stress testing.
  • Identifies opportunities to link integrate information from multiple streams (capital, liquidity and market risk) to enable enhanced analysis and/or robust reporting.
  • Analyzes data and information to provide insights into business product pricing and funds transfer pricing processes.
  • Supports development and execution of liquidity and funding-related strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

  • Qualifications:
  • Typically 5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of trading products including trading strategies, wholesale funding, derivatives and associated liquidity risks on a Trading Balance Sheet.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.
  • Able to manage ambiguity.

  • Knowledge of intraday liquidity and/or prior experience in Risk or Capital Markets area while not necessary, is an advantage.
Salary :

$100,800.00 - $187,200.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
