BMO Radicle is advertising an open position on the Credit Development Service team in the specific technical product portfolio for Low Carbon Fuels to develop successful carbon crediting programs.

Credit Development Service is responsible for delivering on a range of carbon credit products across several portfolios, to deliver outstanding value and service to BMO Radicle's clientele. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment, can meet immediate needs while planning for the future and strives for continuous improvement.

More about the team

The Low Carbon Fuel Portfolio Team manages emission reduction/removal monetization products from ideation and piloting to scaling and maturing, in alignment with firm-wide and Credit Development Service strategies, and in collaboration with Operational Excellence & Technology, Marketing & Sales, and other business units.

Core expectations and responsibilities of the role
  • Be client obsessed - understand that our clients are at the center of everything we do, and build systems, structures, tools, and product collateral that optimizes our clients' experience and meets or exceeds their expectations
  • Manage competing priorities effectively and work both independently and collaboratively, as needed
  • Be an active member of a motivated, engaged, and positive team environment
  • Collaborate with system users and stakeholders to be able to understand challenges with existing processes and continually work towards better processes and systems
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members, helping to shape their professional progress
  • Coordinate project verification activities, including issuing RFPs, managing contracting, reviewing reports, and addressing issues identified by third-party verification bodies
  • Execute on program monitoring, reporting, and auditing requirements and organize team to QA/QC all data and evidence
  • Provide technical (technological, regulatory, project management) insight to assist the scaling of carbon credit development products by identifying risks and opportunities
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in verifying and/or executing greenhouse gas reduction projects; generating and/or trading carbon credits; or reporting and/or managing emissions inventories
  • Proven experience with project management/implementation success across multiple stakeholders and/or jurisdictions
  • Strong technical, engineering, or scientific background (chemical/mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering/diploma, environmental sciences/engineering, instrumentation, environmental chemistry, etc.) in environmental commodities
  • Experience authoring offset project plans/carbon credit project design documents and policy documentation to guide internal stakeholders and third-party verification work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-disciplined and cross-functional stakeholder groups
  • Understanding of all stages of the product development and offset credit development lifecycle (including ideation, business planning, program development, reporting, credit delivery, and credit marketing)
  • Ability to review technical carbon offset policy documentation and extract and document key information into clear policies and procedures
  • Experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated experience in North American policy which impacts carbon credit project development opportunities
  • Familiarity with jurisdictional and sectoral low carbon fuel standards and regulations
Additional desired skills and experiences
  • Project verification experience as a verifier and/or a project proponent, ideally with projects in compliance carbon markets
  • Experience with life-cycle assessments to generate carbon intensities of fuels and/or other products
  • Collaboration on the creation of effective system requirements documentation for Software Development and participating in software development cycles
  • Participation in strategy development on new projects to identify key components of a winning strategy
  • Development of KPIs and product goals
  • Consultative or advisory work with corporate clients on carbon market or industrial project development opportunities
  • History of developing and nurturing strong professional relationships (internal and external)
  • Experience creating, launching, and scaling new products
  • Experience in creating financial tracking tools (financial models) for novel projects and products

$85,000 - $125,000.00 CAD

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
