Job Description:
TD Securities ('TDS') provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and financial institution ('FI') clients through Global Transaction Banking ('GTB'), Corporate and Investment Banking ('CIB'), and Global Markets ('GM'). The firm works with clients around the world, focusing selectively and strategically on key global financial centers: Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, New York, London, Singapore, and Tokyo. www.td.com .
GTB is comprised of two principal business verticals: Treasury Solutions (Corporate Cash Management and Correspondent Banking) and Trade and Working Capital (Core Trade Finance and Structured Trade & Export Finance) which are underpinned by dedicated support functions, including GTB Risk & Control, Product Management, Transformation, and Innovation, Data & Analytics and Business Risk & Control.
GTB is a key growth business within TDS that provides the opportunity to make an impact with top tier organizations. We offer innovative solutions and treasury advisory services on large and complex liquidity, payments, and trade needs. Over the last decade, we have seen unprecedented levels of innovation. The business constantly changes with macroeconomic conditions, interest rate environments, and foreign exchange movements. As a result, all GTB business lines have evolved to provide optimum trade, liquidity, and payment solutions to clients.
Trade and Working Capital delivers client centric solutions to mitigate payment risk and facilitate working capital by employing principally traditional trade finance products (standby letters of credit / guarantees, import letters of credit, export letters of credit, or documentary collections) associated with a client's domestic business needs or foreign sales and purchases. Further to this, we move to support our clients' evolving needs and as such strategically pursue opportunities to expand our suite of products and solutions.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Trade Finance ('TF') coverage banker to join a growing TDS Global Core Trade platform. Reporting to the Managing Director and Head of Global Core Trade, the candidate will be responsible for providing TF product coverage, structuring advice, working capital and risk mitigation solutions to a portfolio of Canadian domiciled, multinational corporates and for driving product penetration within assigned market. Proactivity, flexibility, technical product expertise, and origination discipline are required to deliver value from prospecting and pitching through deal structuring and execution. As a key product partner, the VP interacts with a wide variety of internal stakeholders including industry heads and sector leads within CIB and partners across credit management, GM, and GTB. A collegial and team-oriented view of success is very important to allow the candidate to fit into the team. Having an entrepreneurial mindset is critical to manage through the ambiguity and change associated with growing a business.
